Charquita Rainey
Clerk Craft Director

I’m a dedicated and experienced labor leader who has been fighting for the rights of working people for over 8 years.

I started my postal career as a Postal Support Employee in 2014 at Los Angeles International Service Center (LAX-ISC). I began serving as a shop steward in 2015 and quickly rose through the ranks. In 2018, I was elected as the Clerk Craft Vice President.

As the Clerk Craft Director, I am a strong advocate for postal employees. I fight for better wages, benefits, and working conditions. In addition to being instrumental in winning several major contract victories, I play a leading role in the fight against job reversions.

During the 2019-2020 Trusteeship, I was the acting Clerk Craft Director. In 2021, I was elected as the Clerk Craft Director. I am responsible for representing the interests of over 2,100 workers in the clerical, administrative, and mail processing fields.

I am a passionate and dedicated advocate for working people, a strong leader who is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. I’ve made valuable contributions to the labor movement and remain committed to fighting for a better future for all working families.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and reading the CBA and JCIM. I am also an active member on the Women’s Committee.
